The normal tariff of stamping is 0.50 € (0.30 £), this price is for parcels under 20 g. Over 20 g, the letters must have, in that case, the mention “LETTRE”. A lot of products as “Chronopost”, “Colissimo”, guarantee times of routing. Some French Post office offers too facilities avoiding to make the queue: slot machines of stamps, notes and Internet.
Post Code
In the French Post, each locality has a 5 numbers postcode, in application since 1972. This number should be on the envelope before the name of the locality, on the same line. The two first numbers are the department number, the three others the distributor office. For Paris, Marseille and Lyon, the arrondissement is on the two last figures of the number.
